Welcome New Staff During Jessica’s Maternity Leave
Thank you for being a valued part of the Tempe Acupuncture Center family. As you know, if you are part of our newsletter list*, I am expecting twins at the end of September. Due to my increasing patient schedule and demands on my body (I’ve got nearly eight pounds of babies in there already!), my doctor has advised me to begin rest. As of August 14th, I am pleased to welcome Licensed Acupuncturist Sarah Mowdy, who will care for you in my absence. I searched far & wide to bring you an excellent practitioner, so that you will continue on a very similar path, and enjoy the benefits.
I will remain in communication for a few more weeks, to assist in this transition time. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your treatment, insurance or billing matters, you are welcome to email me privately at jessicamannlac@gmail.com, and I will continue to support your care. Sarah will be handling the phone calls and emails to our regular email account, so feel free to contact her directly for scheduling or questions. You will continue to receive email reminders of your appointments and periodic newsletters from me, to keep you updated. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay abreast of current health and acupuncture-related topics. I most definitely plan to return to work toward the end of the year, so I look forward to seeing you again soon!
I am also thrilled to invite Licensed Massage Therapist Debra Favata to our practice, who will begin offering massage, possibly as early as August 16th. I know many of you have been aching for massage, and I can’t speak highly enough of the benefits of combined (acupuncture and massage) care. Licensed Acupuncturist, & Herbalist, Sarah Mowdy
Sarah is a California-trained Acupuncturist and Herbalist, who holds her Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine from Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley. (You all probably know I find our California education far superior to what is offered here in Arizona, so this makes me very happy!) She is both licensed by the AZ Acupuncture Board, and nationally certified by NCCAOM. She specializes in integrative medicine and psychological wellness, and can address any of your health concerns, from pain management to fertility. In addition to treating patients here in our clinic, Sarah is currently developing continuing education classes for NCCAOM practitioners. We are pleased to have her join us!
Licensed Massage Therapist & Reiki Master, Debra Favata
Debra comes to us from Florida, where she worked privately with massage clients, as well as offered therapy to acupuncture and chiropractic patients. Her medical knowledge is integral in providing therapeutic massage, without aggravating pre-existing pain or medical conditions. She is licensed in both Floria and Arizona, offering a wide variety of specialized techniques, including deep tissue, trigger point, reflexology, aromatherapy, senior care, and jaw release techniques. She is also a Reiki III Master, so she is sure to offer you the ideal blend of therapies for your personal massage goals. Welcome, Debra!
